Gregory began his career running his own digital creative & development firm where he produced digital campaigns & online platforms for the likes of Wrigleys, Energiser, local insurance companies and consumer data organisations. He later joined digital agency Gloo in 2011 where he had the opportunity to work within a growing & talented team, leading on brands like, FNB, MINI, Nivea, South African Tourism and KFC. After several successful years, Gloo merged with Ogilvy South Africa where he headed up Ogilvy’s innovation team, spearheading integrated & special projects, most notably; KFC’s SoundBite Music platform & The World ’s First Baby Marathon for Huggies. Gregory has won many awards at local and international shows including Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Bookmarks, Apex as well as 2 Loeries Grands Prix.

Curator of “Glocal" brand experiences, Mphothe Elizabeth Mokwena is a Pan-African brand builder. At 31, Mphothe has over 10 years experience in the FMCG industry, working in the world’s largest (Proctor & Gamble) and second largest (Unilever) consumer goods companies. She has headed the agenda on many billion-dollar brand in Africa, including Always, Pampers, Ariel, Domestos and Sunlight across key markets like South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia & Ivory Coast. The purpose-centric work she had led on Always (Sanitary dignity campaign), Pampers (new mother education) & Domestos (safe sanitation programme) stand out as career highlights, impacting over two million people with these programmes. Mphothe has is naturally curious, which is why she calls out strategy & marketing mix creation as her strengths. She is passionate about winning, but not at all costs. Bonolo, who bills herself as a ‘creative fixer’ and is currently the lead creative on the Tiger Brands portfolio at FCB Joburg. Here, she has impressed her seniors with both her thinking and her creative eye. A qualified journalist who worked in the publishing and magazine industry for five years, she has six years agency experience and has worked on the Absa, Castle Milk Stout, Legit, Kauai and Sho’t Left brands at agencies such as MetropolitanRepublic, McCann and Gloo Digital. She describes herself as follows: “In the fast-paced world of advertising, it's refreshing to find someone who is passionate about the craft and about people with equal intensity. Some may think my bold hair makes me a mobile rainbow, but I reckon there's more to the woman than the colourful ‘cool kid’ mane, tattoos and piercings.”
Makosha has an advertising career that spans 12 years. Her career started in Account Management where she worked across brands such as Elizabeth Arden, V&A Waterfront and Orient Express. She then took up a position in the strategy department at The Jupiter Drawing Room CT and has never looked back since. Strategy is at the heart of what we do in advertising she says. Makosha has immense passion for truly getting to the nub of what turns consumers on. She has led strategy and developed insight for many iconic brands such as Sanlam, Bushmills Whisky, Frisco, Freshpak, Edcon, Bakers, Yardley, Simba-Pepsico, Heineken, Strongbow Nando’s, Twinsaver and Windhoek.
Dr Beate Stiehler-Mulder
Beate has 15+ years’ experience in Marketing Commerce and over eight years’ experience in marketing lecturing and academic management. She lectures in Strategy and Digital Marketing and is passionate about bringing industry and academia together and regularly calls on her solid network of industry experts to be guest speakers in her classes. In 2019 she also initiated the UJMarketingFit event. She has a background of research and publications in Marketing, Digital, Branding, Retail and Consumer subjects in South African and International Journals and Conferences and is the Winner of the 2017 “Outstanding Paper” Emerald Literati Network Awards. She holds a PhD in Industrial Economics & Management from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden.
Dali was CEO of pioneering Youth Agency, Instant Grass International before cofounding The Culture Foundry Company, a Global Consumer Insight Agency. Dali is recognised as one of the leading strategic minds canvassing how globalisation is affecting Africa's youth. Having completed his undergrad in Organisational Psychology, Business Management and Public Management, Dali went on to study a Post Grad Honours in Marketing and an MBA specialising in Emerging markets from the University of Liverpool. In his young career, Dali has delivered strategic guidance to numerous multi-national corporations across Africa and MEA, partnered and delivered reports with the UCT Institute of Strategic Marketing, run his own Youth Trends Columns, contributed to leading magazines on emerging trends and been a regular guest speaker at notable conferences and universities. Dali is also a contributing author to the book The Future is Now, featuring commentary from leading Futurists, such as: Dion Chang, Nikolas Badminton, Bronwyn Williams and Theo Priestley.
